ESPN REPORT: Birmingham Lose A Talented Star To….

According to Football Insider, West Brom manager Carlos Corberan’s representatives have contacted Burnley and Birmingham City regarding empty management roles.

Corberan has been connected with a number of roles in recent months following his success in taking the Baggies to the Championship playoffs.

According to sources, the Spaniard wants to leave West Brom this summer after experiencing various hurdles during his tenure at The Hawthorns.

Birmingham are looking for a new manager after Tony Mowbray resigned due to health issues, and Burnley are looking to replace Vincent Kompany, who was chosen Bayern Munich’s new manager.

Corberan is under contract with Albion until 2027, after agreeing to a contract extension last year.

Birmingham may appoint West Brom manager Carlos Corberan.

The 41-year-old had a successful first full season in command at West Brom, leading the side to fifth place in the Championship.

The Baggies were knocked out of the play-offs in the semi-finals after losing 3-1 to eventual champions Southampton.

The Spanish manager has a 39.1 percent victory rate after previously managing Huddersfield Town, Olympiacos, and Cypriot clubs Doxa and Ermis.

Corberan’s efforts at West Brom has piqued the interest of West Midlands rivals Birmingham and newly demoted Burnley.

A number of managers have been linked with the Birmingham position since Mowbray’s departure, with Football Insider reporting on May 27 that the League One club had interviewed Alex Neil about taking over at St Andrew’s next season.

Burnley are also interested in signing Corberan after Kompany joined Bayern following the club’s relegation to the Championship.

On May 28, Football Insider stated that Clarets officials are currently at conflict about who to pick as the Belgian’s successor. Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness told Football Insider that Corberan may be the ideal candidate to take over at Turf Moor and help the team return to the Premier League.
