A collective sigh of relief can be emitted by all those who are holding their breath. Johnell Davis is no longer participating in the NBA draft.
At the end of April, the Florida Atlantic transfer pledged to Arkansas. According to 247 Sports, he was the second-highest transfer in the portal at the time of his commitment; per On3 Sports’ standards, he was the highest.
Davis’s choice to return to school wasn’t shocking. When Davis decided on the Hogs, he had already declared for the NBA draft. However, six days later, he turned down an invitation to the G League Elite Camp and skipped the NBA draft combine. Rather, he worked out and met with NBA organizations, taking advantage of the laxer regulations. Adding to Davis’ motivation to return to college is the rumored NIL offer of over $1 million to come to Fayetteville.
With eight players confirmed for the upcoming season, the Razorbacks have five positions available to fill. Names from the following X post are among those making the rounds on social media, but they’re not the only ones.
There are suspicions that they will all return to college after being selected in the NBA draft. Coleman Hawkins is currently the favorite, although Trevon Brazile, who has already removed his name from the NBA draft, is also not on the list.
