ESPN REPORT: Le joueur clé des Red Sox Brayan Bello annonce son départ après une dispute avec le coach, même en insultant la famille…
Rafaela’s three RBIs during the Red Sox’s 7-3 victory over Detroit moved him to 33.
Although Ceddanne Rafaela has been playing center field and producing defensive plays worthy of a highlight reel, he had a career day at bat on Friday.
In his subsequent at-bat, the rising star smashed a two-run long ball and a three-run home run. After the Red Sox defeated the Detroit Tigers 7-3, Rafaela now has 33 RBIs, which leads all rookies. With seven home runs, he is tied for second place among rookies. His two home runs were similar in that they were hit powerfully, with just enough momentum to clear the Green Monster. Though it was deemed a nice home run, his second of the evening struck the top of the wall and rebounded back into play.
Rafaela bats just.211 this season and is a low hitter in the order. He has nevertheless continued to make an effect on the Red Sox offense. Not only does he top all rookies in RBIs, but he leads all Boston batters as well.
The outfielder’s offensive performance has only improved; in his first 27 games of the season, he batted.156, but in his last 30, he is hitting.260. In those thirty games, he has also hit six of his seven home runs.
Rafaela’s versatility and output combine to make him a valued young player for the Red Sox. In an emergency, he can play middle infield and serve as Boston’s starting center fielder.
Rafaela still has a lot of opportunity to develop as a player, but in the first two months of the Red Sox’s disappointing season, he’s been a bright spot.
