Done Deal: Kentucky Sign The Most Talented Mega-Star With Indiana Worth 88.4 Million….
A few of the top basketball players in Kentucky, both male and female, are getting ready to play one last pre-college game as representatives of their home state. This year’s basketball all-star series between Indiana and Kentucky is happening this Friday and Saturday. The first games will be played at Lexington Catholic High School on Friday night, and the Indiana Pacers’ home court, Gainbridge Fieldhouse, will host the games on Saturday. In every game, the winners of Mr. and Miss Basketball 2024 will take the court. Miss Basketball Trinity Rowe (Pikeville), who will play in college at Southern Miss, and Mr. Basketball Travis Perry (Lyon County), one of the 12 scholarship players scheduled to play on Mark Pope’s inaugural Kentucky men’s basketball team next season, will both
A Sweet 16 state tournament title in March sealed Perry’s record as the all-time top scorer in Kentucky boys high school basketball history, with 5,481 points earned during his career. Lyon County won its first team state championship in any sport thanks to a 27-point performance from Perry in the Sweet 16 championship game.
Perry, who has been a starter for the varsity team since the seventh grade, chose UK as his college of choice in November after narrowly choosing between Alabama, Cincinnati, Ole Miss, and Western Kentucky. He was the lone recruit from UK’s projected six-player 2024 class to remain with the Wildcats after John Calipari was replaced as head coach in the offseason by Pope.
According to Scott Chalk, executive director of the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches, “Travis is what you hope for every year: Someone who just loves Kentucky high school basketball, who had a great opportunity to really excel at the game in our state.” “But he also sincerely wants to represent Kentucky high school basketball, the state, and all those things.” Perry is one of two former Lyon County players on the boys’ all-star roster for this year. Brady Shoulders is the other, and he’s headed to Mercer.
