A seasoned guard with Final Four experience has committed to Providence College.

Bensley Joseph will join the Friars for his last collegiate season after leaving Miami. On Friday afternoon, he made the announcement on his personal social media platforms.

Joseph, a native of Massachusetts, attended Putnam Science for his prep. For the 6-foot-2 point guard, who played in 105 games throughout his tenure with the Hurricanes, it’s a kind of homecoming. Over his three seasons with the Coral Gables, Joseph increased his assist percentage and finished with a 37.9% 3-point shooting percentage.

In 2023–24, Joseph was the only player from Miami to start all 32 games. In 31.4 minutes, he averaged 9.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.5 steals. Six of the previous seven games saw Joseph score in double digits, including a season-high 21 points in a road defeat to North Carolina.

Joseph competed in the Peach Jam, the Nike circuit’s year-end championship tournament, as a grassroots athlete with Expressions Elite. He was rated as a top-130 player in his class by most online scouting organizations, with four stars. Before deciding to commit to the Hurricanes, Joseph had offers from a number of universities, including Providence, the University of Rhode Island, Boston College, Marquette, Penn State, Georgetown, Iowa, and Rutgers.

Joseph’s two seasons at Miami ended with long trips into the NCAA Tournament. As a freshman, he participated in 36 games for an Elite Eight squad; however, the Hurricanes lost to Kansas, the eventual national champion, in a Chicago regional final. Miami was defeated by Connecticut in the national semifinals, the champion team from the previous season, once more.

Joseph participated in the Nike circuit’s Peach Jam, the year-end championship tournament, as a grassroots athlete with Expressions Elite.
