Huge: Knicks Acquire $222 Million Star That Will Take Them To The First In….

Karl-Anthony Towns, the big man for the Minnesota Timberwolves, and head coach Tom Thibodeau have always had a physical relationship. Thibodeau and Towns have a history together as Minnesota Vikings coaches, which points to a possible collaborative effort. However, it is still unclear if Towns would be a good match for the Knicks.

The Knicks may view Towns as a worthwhile acquisition as the off-season draws near and if Minnesota decides to trade him after an All-Star season that had a 41.6% success rate from beyond the arc.

Last season, Karl-Anthony Towns averaged 21.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, and three assists. He also had a.504 field goal shooting % and a.575 effective field goal percentage. Towns’ offensive ability is undeniable, but there is more disagreement when drawing comparisons to Julius Randle.

In the event that the Knicks pursue Towns, they would probably have to let go of Randle, an All-NBA player and strong forward. However, according Heavy.com, an unnamed NBA executive alluded to the Knicks’ possible interest: “The Timberwolves are a squad that is in transition. They just cannot afford to continue expanding on the work they accomplished this year. Therefore, I believe it is absolutely expected that the Knicks would move on from him after the dust settles.
