ESPN REPORT: Detroit Lions Has Just Banned For The 2024 Season Due To….
NFL teams are in the OTA season, and many of them are looking to develop players and unearth hidden stars. The Detroit Lions, who are preparing for another season under head coach Dan Campbell, are one such team. It appears that the Lions’ desire for rough play backfired on them this Friday amidst their ongoing activities.
Adam Schefter, an ESPN insider, shared a photo of Campbell on Instagram with the following caption:
“Lions will lose their practice on Monday, June 10th, after they acknowledged that they “violated player work standards pertaining to on-field physical contact pursuant to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.”
To put things in perspective, the NFL and its Players Association have a collective bargaining agreement that outlines the guidelines and restrictions for offseason training regimens. Live contact is usually limited to the teams’ required training camps, which begin in late July, and is forbidden during OTAs.
Even though Campbell and the Lions will miss a practice day, they will undoubtedly regroup and pick up where they left off. After perhaps their best season in team history, Detroit is making their first trip to the NFC Championship in more than thirty years. Although they narrowly lost out on going to the Super Bowl, the team’s offseason actions suggest that they could very well be a title contender once more.
