Red Sox Renvoyent le prospect de pitcher des White Sox de la règle…
The Boston Red Sox gained another arm back in the system for the improved pitching pipeline to work with. Pitching prospect Shane Drohan returned to the organization after being designated for assignment by the Chicago White Sox, per MassLive’s Chris Cotillo. The White Sox selected Drohan during the Rule 5 Draft this past offseason. The left-hander appeared in 10 games this season across three levels of the minor leagues in Chicago’s organization, going 2-0 with an 8.68 ERA.
The left-hander Drohan, who was taken by the Red Sox in the fifth round of the 2020 MLB Draft out of Florida State, really began to turn it on at the beginning of the 2023 season, posting a 1.32 ERA through six starts in Double-A Portland before struggling at Triple-A and leaving for Chicago.
Now that he is back with the Red Sox, Drohan has the opportunity to rebuild his career. The internal building pitching landscape has completely changed thanks to Craig Breslow and Andrew Bailey. Drohan is the next player Boston wants to develop to his full potential.
After spending time in the minor leagues with both Boston and Chicago, Drohan could find himself in Triple-A. He joins a group of pitching prospects that have advanced through the Red Sox minor league system.
