ESPN REPORT: Le propriétaire des Red Sox John W. Henry suspend les quatre matchs à venir…
Boston — Carlos Rodón, a left-hander for the Yankees, arrived at Fenway Park on Saturday with a 2.19 ERA in his previous six starts (37 innings). He was met by a flurry of early rockets from the Red Sox.
With three runs in the first and two more in the second, Boston’s batters ambushed Rodón to give the Sox an early lead. The Sox held on to defeat the Yankees 8-4, their first victory of the season. The Sox moved to night in primetime.
In the first two innings, the Red Sox’s offense put eight balls in play that hit 99.9 mph or faster against Rodón, so they didn’t get many cheap shots early on. Jarren Duran doubled to start the first inning, and Tyler O’Neill followed with a two-bagger off the Green Monster that clocked in at 100.1 mph. Following a walk to Rafael Devers and an RBI single through the middle by Connor Wong, rookie Jamie Westbrook made it 3-0 with his second career extra-base hit, a double off the left-field wall at a speed of 104.9 mph.
