Albert Johansson, a defense prospect, has agreed to a one-year, two-way deal with the Detroit Red Wings for the 2024–25 season.

With the Grand Rapids Griffins, the 23-year-old scored six goals and totaled 21 points over his whole 2023–24 AHL season. In nine playoff games, he also contributed three assists, assisting the team to the Central Division Final. Johnasson has been a member of the Griffins for the last two seasons.
