Report Giants Closing Secret Deal To Sign Detroit Lion MVP In A Blockbuster Trade

When Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham stated last week that he was aware that some Giants fans “are p—-d about” the team’s decision to sign former running back Saquon Barkley in free agency, it caused some eyebrows to raise.

Giants pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux is aware that these kinds of deals are just a normal aspect of the NFL.

During a recent appearance on “The Rich Eisen Show,” Thibodeaux discussed Barkley’s departure, saying, “At the end of the day, it’s a business,” as reported by Bridget Hyland of NJ Advance Media for NJ.com. “I never really found it difficult. I made contact with Barkley. Since this is a short-term league, you must get paid as soon as you can. Additionally, you cannot lose any money. I’m glad he was able to secure the contract he was pursuing since we’ve seen it happen with previous players and contracts.”

After being selected in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Giants, Thibodeaux was a member of the team that made it to the playoffs and triumphed in a road postseason game, primarily because of the efforts of quarterback Daniel Jones and running back Barkley. Barkley eventually signed what was basically an amended franchise tag to play for the Giants in their last season, while Jones signed a four-year contract for up to $160 million in March 2023.
