Veteran Phillies sportscaster barred from Phillies games due to “unwanted advance”
Longtime Philadelphia sports broadcaster Howard Eskin has been banned from Citizens Bank Park for the rest of the season after being accused of making an unwanted advance on an employee in the venue, according to multiple reports.
The Philadelphia Phillies will be the buyers at the MLB trade deadline, which is July 30. Recent injuries have put the club’s depth to the test, as Bryce Harper, Taijuan Walker, Spencer Turnbull, and Kyle Schwarber have all been placed on the injured list.
To strengthen their team, Philadelphia doesn’t necessarily need to sign a blockbuster deal. When they are at full strength, their roster poses little problems. But during a season, injuries can mount up quickly for any club. With the postseason just a few months away, the trade deadline offers a competitive team like the Phillies the chance to strengthen even more.
The Toronto Blue Jays have a couple players who might give the Phillies depth if they chose to offload before the trade deadline on July 30. Trevor Richards, a reliever, has had a good season. He will be a free agent following the season. In 36 appearances, he has a 2.49 ERA and a 0.83 WHIP.
Pitcher Yimi García, who has right elbow ulnar neuritis and is presently on a 15-day IL starting on June 17, is having a strong season. Through 27 games, he has a 2.57 ERA and a 0.79 WHIP. With closer Jordan Romano sidelined by elbow pain, the Blue Jays will turn to the impending free agent when he returns from the injured list.
