ESPN REPORT: Paul George Send A Warning Strong Message To 76ers….

Following mediocre offseason acquisitions, the Clippers, Warriors, Lakers, Nuggets, and Heat are in the losing column.

There is a wide range of athlete podcasts, from the great (New Heights) to the transitory (Mind the Game) and all in between. But occasionally, as the most recent episode of Podcast P—the Paul George-helmed video pod—proved to be, they can be educational.

After agreeing to a four-year, $212 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, George took up a microphone to explain what transpired. George claims that the Los Angeles Clippers extended their offer to him in October for two years at a cost of $60 million. He went on. “A little discourteous,” George remarked. L.A.’s offer increased over the following few months to surpass $40 million annually. George nevertheless turned it down.

Kawhi Leonard was signed by the Clippers to a three-year, $153 million contract extension in January. George assumed he would receive a similar offer. And George declared that he would accept it if it did.

No, it didn’t. Los Angeles declined to extend the agreement past two years. The Clippers approached George with a Leonard-like deal following the season, which was a fantastic year for George as he recorded career-best efficiency figures and participated in the most games (74) since his time in Oklahoma City. George declared he would take a four-year, max-level contract with a no-trade provision, indicating he was aware that it was available to him. L.A. declined again this time. George requested a maximum of four years. The Clippers failed once more.
