Cornerback Cam Sutton was cut by the Detroit Lions due to an arrest linked to domestic abuse, and the Pittsburgh Steelers signed him. Many people are questioning why the Steelers signed the former third-round pick in the first place after learning of the NFL’s eight-game suspension.

One of the people that has criticized the Steelers is Mike Florio of NBC, who attacked Pittsburgh on Pro Football Talk.

Florio stated, “I believe the Steelers should be closely examined and chastised for their choice to grant Cam Sutton safe harbor.” “The allegations are strong when you look at the affidavits.”

Florio continued by saying that Steelers supporters cannot justify the signing of Sutton if they are against the Browns for trading for Deshaun Watson.

“They wish to criticize the Browns for acquiring Deshaun Watson,” stated Florio. “Sutton was ultimately suspended for just three fewer games than Watson was.”

On the field, the deal made sense for the Steelers, but they deserve the attention that they are getting. This is at the very least distracting. It’s something far worse, at most.
