Done Dea: Tar Heels Basketball Set To Welcome The Five-Star For….
College coaches throughout the nation have their busiest recruiting weekends of the year during this time, while Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball staff are out early scouting some of their best prospects.
Five-star player Koa Peat is playing for the Compton Magic in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Hubert Davis and two members of the UNC basketball program’s coaching staff are in attendance, according to Brandon Ramsey of Kentucky Sports Radio.
Peat, who 247Sports ranks as the fifth-best player in the Class of 2025, has garnered a lot of attention. Peat is still considered one of the best prospects in this class, even though there are many talented students graduating, and several universities are still fighting for him to join their program the next year.
Having made his formal visit to Chapel Hill last autumn, Peat reduced his recruitment to ten teams, including the UNC basketball program, in January. Davis and his staff appear to have high hopes for the Gilbert, Arizona native, as seen by their concerted efforts to include him in their 2025 recruiting class.
Peat is a dynamic striker whose skill set would be a perfect match for what Hubert Davis wants his teams to do. He can have a range of effects on the game. The 6-foot-8 forward has the makings of a one-and-done player who could easily wind up as a lottery choice in the 2026 NBA Draft. Either way, he will make an immediate impact wherever he goes.
The coaching staff of the UNC basketball program will be viewing some of their top recruits over the next few weekends. They clearly have a plan in place to entice some elite talent to Chapel Hill, judging on the group of people they brought along to see Koa Peat.
