Shocking Death: Detroit Lions RB Announce The Death Of His Father” Who Dies In A Car Crash….
Last year, the Detroit Lions signed free agent David Montgomery and selected Jahmyr Gibbs with a first-round draft pick, making significant additions to their backfield.
Now that the Lions have added another draft pick to strengthen their rushing game this season, one of the backfield’s longest-tenured players may be leaving. Third-year running back Craig Reynolds was not going to make the final 53-man roster this season, according to AtoZ Sports’ Mike Payton.
For the upcoming campaign, Payton projected that the team’s starting lineup would consist of Gibbs and Montgomery, with youngster Sione Vaki and former New York Jets running back Zonovan Knight filling in as backups. Reynolds might just lose out on a roster position, he said.
He predicted the final roster before training camp, writing, “Vaki is going to be a fun addition to an already really fun backfield.” “As the fourth guy, I’ve wavered between Craig Reynolds and Zonovan Knight. Knight is difficult to rule out. He simply possesses so much potential.
In his first season with the New York Jets in 2022, Knight made a significant impact by rushing for 300 yards and one score as well as adding 13 receptions for 100 yards. After signing with the Lions the previous season, he played in just two games, gaining 13 yards on three rushes and 8 yards on one reception.
Reynolds’ flexibility and special teams play may give him an advantage if he does end up on the roster bubble. Last year, he played 211 special teams snaps, a career-high, and ran 41 times for 179 yards and one touchdown.
