Report-Jaylen Harrell Rejects 186 Million Offer To Providence
Providence has received a commitment from Jaylen Harrell, the No. 94 overall prospect in the 2025 class.
The 6-foot-5, 210-pound small forward from Braintree, Massachusetts, went with the Friars over Xavier, Rutgers, Kansas, Alabama, and Virginia Tech. He attended Cambridge Arts, Technology, and Science. “I chose Providence because It felt like a family over there,” he stated. “I consider Kim to be my big brother and I adore the coaching staff.” We believe we have a strong chance to take home a national title.”
When Harrell decided which institution to attend, he also had strong feelings regarding the Friar’s playing style. English wants to see Harrell contribute to the score while strengthening his defense.
He claimed that “Providence has NBA play style.” They shoot a lot of threes, especially transition threes, because they play similar to the Boston Celtics. He will push me to defend because he needs scoring. He wants me to play both ways so I can work in his system that way.” Harrell’s decision was influenced by many player comparisons that Coach English presented him.
“There were many highlights of Devin Carter with his freedom when we were watching the movie,” he remarked. “I also observed numerous Paul Pierce game scenarios.”
