Throughout Kansas football’s existence, the Mark Mangino period was among the most prosperous; it set new standards, achieved unprecedented heights, and left a generation of Jayhawk supporters with priceless memories.

The former head coach is currently receiving honors for his services to Kansas University and the state of Kansas. Mangino was just named one of the twelve people who will be inducted into the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame this autumn as part of the 2024 class.

He oversaw Kansas football for seven years, from 2002 to 2009, and ended with a 50-48 record and four bowl game trips, three of which were wins.

The Jayhawks defeated Houston in the 2005 bowl game to earn the first bowl victory.

The Mark Mangino era was one of the most successful in Kansas football history, setting new standards and heights while leaving a legacy of fond memories for a new generation of Jayhawk fans.
