In this year’s NBA Summer League, six former Tar Heels are playing for six different clubs. The yearly competition, which showcases up-and-coming talent in the sport, features athletes vying for roster spots, preparing for 2024–25, and everything in between. Now that this mini-season has officially lasted eleven days, North Carolina’s recent stars have seen a wide range of usage.

Just two former Tar Heels have seen action thus far, Armando Bacot of Utah Jazz. In those games, Bacot has averaged twelve minutes of play and five points per game. The Chicago Bulls’ Garrison Brooks has also had difficulty getting on the court, getting just seventeen minutes and seven points overall. This summer, Leaky Black of the Charlotte Hornets has started each of the six games.
