In a devastating Instagram post, Dallas Mavericks player Dereck Lively II revealed the passing of his mother, Kathy Drysdale.

Despite fighting cancer for over ten years, she continued to be a constant fixture during her son’s NBA career. “My heart breaks saying goodbye to the most important person in the world to me, my best friend, my superhero, my biggest cheerleader, and my mom,” he wrote on Instagram.
