Defenses have worked diligently to slow down Sean McVay’s offense ever since he joined the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL. The Rams’ wide zone run game and play action off of it allowed them to dominate the NFL in 2017 and the majority of 2018. McVay was compelled to veer away from it by using strange fronts and 6-1 looks. In 2021, the Rams offense evolved to include more empty looks.
