Welcome Back: The Blue Jays’ five-star player who plays for the Rangers is available again.

The Texas Rangers’ five-game winning run came to an end on Friday night when the Toronto Blue Jays defeated them 6-5 thanks to a single from Ernie Clement in the ninth inning.

With four hits, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. helped the Blue Jays snap a six-game losing streak to the Rangers.

After Justin Turner singled off Josh Sborz (2-1) with one out in the ninth, Steward Berroa stole second base and took Turner’s spot. Guerrero was then walked by Sborz, and Kirby Yates entered to record the second out by striking out Danny Jansen. In order to load the bases for Clement, who scored the winning run on the first pitch with a single to left, Spencer Horwitz was purposefully walked.

“I was on go from pitch one because I knew he was going to try to throw a strike,” Clement remarked. “I hit a pitch that was up in the zone with a good swing.”

This was Toronto’s third game-ending hit of the season and Clement’s first major league game-winning hit.

“Unfortunately, my pitch wasn’t that strong.
