Ravens News: Head Coach John Harbaugh of the Ravens shocked supporters today by announcing his resignation.

During training camp and the preseason, teams usually have two main objectives: 1) to establish team cohesion and gel for the next season, and 2) to get through the preseason with as few critical player injuries as possible. The injury bug has recently plagued a few players for the Baltimore Ravens, and starting wide out Rashod Bateman gave them a small scare.

On Monday, July 29, the Ravens’ beat writer Jeff Zrebiec of the Athletics wrote, “Ravens just wrapped up practice.” About an hour in, wide receiver Rashod Bateman sprinted to the locker room and never came back. He got into a one-on-one rep with CB Ka’Dar Holman and got tangled up.

Although Bateman has experienced injuries for the duration of his brief career, it was hoped that following a largely healthy 2023, those days would be behind him. As the number two wide receiver on the depth chart right now, Bateman is anticipated to play a significant part in this offense.

Following practice, head coach John Harbaugh updated the media, saying, “I don’t think it’s a serious thing, just a little soreness you know.”

With Bateman’s past, the Ravens will take things cautiously early in training camp in the hopes that he would live up to his first-round status and provide quarterback Lamar Jackson with another significant target.
