ESPN REPORT: Hearts Make Last-Minute Move To Sell Celtic Top midfielder Before Deadline…..
Matt O’Riley will put Celtic’s determination to the test once more, as rumours in the Italian media indicate that Atalanta will make a better offer for its Danish playmaker. The 23-year-old has already been passed over twice by the Serie A team, but according to Gazetta dello Sport, the Europa League champions from the previous season are preparing a third effort that might cost up to £23 million.
When specifically questioned about his interest in O’Riley, Luca Percassi, the CEO of Atalanta, stated, “We follow and have the responsibility to follow many players in all roles.” The Bergamo-based team believes O’Riley would be the perfect successor in the event if Teun Koopmeiners, a midfielder for Juventus, were to leave.
This transfer season, Hearts are expected to add eight players throughout the summer, starting with Colombian defender Andres Salazar, who is now traveling from Atletico Nacional to Tynecastle in his home uniform.
After selling Alex Cochrane to Birmingham City, Hearts are eager to add more options at left-back, and Salazar—a Colombian international—has been seen as the man to challenge James Penrice for that role. He is expected to arrive in Edinburgh this morning to finalize the move, according to a number of publications.
Malachi Boateng, a midfielder for Crystal Palace who spent the previous season on loan at Dundee, is another player that Hearts is attempting to sign.
Propper describes the move.
The eighth player signed by Rangers this summer is Robin Propper, as Philippe Clement continues to restructure the team.
