Agreement Deal: Diamondbacks Make Agreement Deal With Guardians To Sign 350 Million InFielder
The Arizona Diamondbacks and Cleveland Guardians game scheduled for Tuesday night was postponed due to heavy rain and a soggy field. This means that the clubs will now play two games on Wednesday, the first starting at 1:10 p.m.
Around 7:30 p.m., Guardians manager Stephen Vogt and general manager Mike Chernoff assessed the field’s condition with a large number of supporters present at Progressive Field. About forty minutes later, the postponement was declared.
Severe thunderstorms passed across the area prior to the scheduled start time of 6:40 p.m., and a tornado warning caused stadium employees to seek refuge in the stadium’s lower levels. Water filled a hallway that connected the Diamondbacks’ clubhouse and dugout.
Diamondbacks left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez was supposed to make his debut following a shoulder injury, but the rainout postponed his debut. Rodriguez will now start in the second game on Wednesday.
In December, Rodriguez committed to a four-year, $80 million contract with Arizona with the intention of bolstering the starting lineup. His rehab stay was prolonged to five months due to a setback.
