The New York Yankees paid tribute to the late MLB executive

¿Por qué tan pronto: Descansa en paz? “El nuevo jugador del campo de los Yankees muere en un accidente motor” Vea detalles.

The New York Yankees honored the late Billy Bean, the senior vice president of diversity, equity, and inclusion for MLB, on Thursday before their doubleheader against the Los Angeles Angels. The team observed a moment of silence in his honor.

After suffering acute myeloid leukemia for a year, Bean, the second former MLB player to openly come out as homosexual in 1999, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 60.

Manager of the Yankees Aaron Boone said of him, “He was really easy to talk to and be around.” He was an honest man. For our sport, it is depressing. Years ago, the commissioner created a position for him that aided in fostering understanding and tolerance within our sport. Billy will be missed for his efforts to unite people.
