Breaking Chiefs Set To Lose Another Key Star To Ravens In A Blockbuster Trade

The mandated minicamp for the Kansas City Chiefs ended almost three weeks ago, and they will take a month off until training camp gets underway. Veterans report to camp on Saturday, July 20, while rookies and quarterbacks arrive on Tuesday, July 16.

Three players with the Chiefs missed the required minicamp at some point, and three others were present but did not put on their helmets. Two of the three guys who aren’t wearing helmets are recovering from injuries to their knees.

The six-year veteran of the Kansas City Chiefs is recuperating from a serious knee injury.

During the AFC Championship game against the Baltimore Ravens, Charles Omenihu suffered an ACL tear. He had surgery around the end of February and missed the Super Bowl. He attended the required minicamp and OTAs, but he didn’t practice or wear a helmet.

Regarding his rehabilitation, Omenihu stated, “It’s going good” (via Aaron Wilson of KPRC2). Everyone warned me it would be a slow process, but so far it’s gone okay. To be honest, I’m cool and steady right now. I kind of keep myself that way; just be straightforward, and eventually I will ramp it up that way.

He tore his ACL around the end of January, and as it usually takes six to nine months (maybe longer) to heal from ACL surgery, he will probably open the 2024 season on the PUP list and, if all goes right, miss at least the first four weeks of play.
