Breaking News: Iga Swiatek Accuses Steffi Graf Of Trying To Damage Her Reputation, Following….
Global No. 1 Iga Swiatek is well known for being an avid reader and a student of tennis, but even though the Polish star had already rewritten WTA record books and won five Grand Slam titles at the young age of 23, she has never hidden the fact that she still has a lot to learn about both the world and her sport.
She believes that three former greats in tennis can assist her in achieving that, if you ask her.
When asked who tennis players from the past or present she would most like to invite to a dinner party, a reporter at the All England Club asked Swiatek after her first-round victory against Sofia Kenin. She mentioned three of the WTA’s most successful players: Steffi Graf, Maria Sharapova, and Serena Williams.
Even though Forbes lists Sharapova as the highest-paid female athlete in the world in 2023, Swiatek believes she still has room to grow in her business sense—a skill Sharapova notably excelled at when she was competing and has continued to do so since retiring in 2020.
“Sharapova … we never really talked because she kind of retired when I was still going up,” she said. “I think she handled everything really well and made some smart business decisions off the court. She may be viewed as somewhat of an example.”
