July 4: The Sixers released a press release announcing that Edwards’ two-way contract was now official.
June 27: Shams Charania of The Athletic (Twitter link) has been informed by sources that the Sixers are signing Kentucky wing Justin Edwards to a two-way contract.
After being a top high school recruit, Edwards, a native of Philadelphia, had a mixed first season for the Wildcats, averaging 8.8 points per game, 3.4 rebounds, and 0.9 steals on.486/.365/.776 shooting in 32 games (30 starts, 21.4 MPG).
Based on the best available list provided by ESPN, Edwards was the best undrafted player available on the open market after the 2024 draft. ESPN draft analyst Jonathan Givony gave him a second-round grade (No. 39).
