ESPN REPORT: Kings lose first game of the California Classic to the Lakers
The Sacramento Kings defeated the Lakers because of their poor defense, even though each player had a fantastic game.
The Sacramento Kings defeat the Lakers 108-94 in the opening game of the California Classic on Saturday afternoon.
At the game, Maxwell Lewis scored 14 points, pulled down three rebounds, disheveled an assist, and stole the ball. Bronny James Jr. had four points, two steals, two rebounds, and two assists. With four thefts, two rebounds, and two assists, Dalton Knecht scored 12 points. After getting off to a rough start, Colin Castleton steadied himself to record 11 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and a block. In addition to grabbing three rebounds, Armel Traore scored six points. Coming off the bench, Blake Hinson put up a strong performance with 17 points, three rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
Tommy Kuhse’s accurate shooting helped Los Angeles have a successful game off the bench.
Lewis led the Lakers to a 4-0 start in their Summer League campaign before dishing out two more points in a row. Los Angeles had all the early impetus, but the Kings surged up by five.
The action in the game got off to a sloppy but entertaining start. Knecht and Bronny, the rookie headliners for the Lakers, missed their opening shots but were getting solid looks. The Lakers trailed five at the half.
