Lions QB To Miss The Mose Highly Anticipated NFL Summer Legue Match….

John Cominsky moved from being a June waiver claim to being an important member of the Detroit Lions’ defensive line in 2022. Therefore, deciding to re-sign him to a multi-year contract in 2023 was simple. Cominsky’s production declined each, and this offseason, the Lions had Cominsky’s name sort of pop up on a short list of possible cut candidates.

It came as no surprise that Cominsky accepted a pay reduction in exchange for being able to stay on. Of course, his adaptability and toughness have also endeared him to head coach Dan Campbell. After breaking his thumb in Week 2 of the 2022 season, he missed just three games and played the remainder of the season with a club on his hand.

The Lions have fierce competition for positions and responsibilities on the defensive line, if nothing else. It’s unclear where Cominsky fits in with Mathieu Betts, Josh Paschal, Mehki Wingo, Marcus Davenport, and others. He is, at the very least, on the bubble for the roster and needs a strong training camp and preseason.

As one of the few players the Lions could actually contemplate dealing, Cominsky was previously identified by Bleacher Report’s Gary Davenport as a preseason trade option.
