July 22–Monique Burton and Brian Krabak, two doctors from Seattle, won’t be winning any medals at the Paris Olympics, which get underway on July 24. However, they will definitely be aiding a lot of athletes who will. Growing up in Seattle, Burton’s aim was to compete in Olympic gymnastics. He made it to the Olympics sixteen years ago, this time in Beijing as a medic for the U.S. track and field team. This year, he will return to the games in Paris. The father of Brian Krabak never took swimming lessons. Krabak, a physician at the UW Sports Medicine Center and a professor of rehabilitation medicine, orthopedics, and sports medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine and Seattle Children’s, is amazed by this fact as he gets ready to be one of two doctors for
