An extensive renovation is underway at St Andrew’s for the second summer in a row in anticipation of Birmingham City’s League One debut.
The club’s current infrastructure will be improved this summer thanks to a £15 million contribution from owners Knighthead, and work at the stadium is already substantially advanced. Blues allowed builders to start work over the weekend by closing their club shop until further notice.
Blues are creating a pop-up entertainment center on the Kop parking lot in addition to the permanent fan zone that is being constructed on the Main Stand parking lot. The shop is undergoing modifications to give fans a more cohesive experience.

Work at the stadium is already well under way, and owners Knighthead have committed to spending £15 million this summer to upgrade the team’s current facilities. In order to give builders time to start their work, Blues closed their club shop over the weekend.
Apart from constructing a long-term fan area at the Main Stand parking lot, Blues are also planning to launch a temporary entertainment hub at the Kop parking lot. Adjustments are being made to the shop to give supporters a more cohesive experience.

Pete Shuttleworth is one of the coaches whose jobs are in doubt this summer. He rejoined the Blues in October as a member of Wayne Rooney’s coaching team. Tony Mowbray decided to keep the 45-year-old on, but Gary Rowett decided to use him differently for the last six weeks of the season.
In recent years, Shuttleworth has changed from being an analyst to a coach, and he is currently pursuing his UEFA A License. He completed the second half of his qualification by training at the Northern Irish FA recently.
