Joey Meyer, the longtime DePaul basketball coach, passed away on Friday afternoon at the age of 74, according to the school.
According to DePaul, he passed away surrounded by relatives.
The reason of death was not stated.
The school wrote on X, “We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of former DePaul coach and student-athlete, Joey Meyer.” Meyer devoted over three decades to the DePaul basketball program. We are thinking of the Meyer family.
Meyer led the basketball team for 13 years, amassing 231 victories with a.594 winning percentage and making seven trips to the NCAA Tournament.
