Three-time reigning Formula 1 world champion and current points leader Max Verstappen of Red Bull had a race to forget on Sunday in Hungary, and for the first time in nearly two months, his gap to second place in the standings shrunk. Straight from the get-go, it looked like it would be a long day for the 26-year-old Dutchman, who was told to give up second place to McLaren’s Lando Norris after overtaking the polesitter on the start by going off of the race track.
