HARTFORD: The women’s basketball team from UConn gave a preview of their potential for domination as they started their game against Providence with a 10-0 run that resulted in three straight turnovers.
The program officially announced Aubrey Griffin’s ACL tear on Wednesday, but just hours later, UConn’s thinly manned squad thrashed the Friars 85-41 at XL Center. For the second straight game without Griffin, the Huskies were outrebounded and had a bad shooting night, so the first three quarters weren’t as good as the first.
