The family of Southern California drag racer John Force announced this week that the 16-time NHRA champion has transitioned to outpatient care following a terrifying 300 mph incident that left the racer hospitalized with a traumatic brain injury.
After spending 15 days in a hospital in Virginia and a brief stay at a rehabilitation facility in Arizona, the 75-year-old Bell Gardens native and Yorba Linda resident returned home on Monday, according to his family.

Ashley Force Hood, the daughter, said in a statement issued by John Force Racing on Tuesday, “He finally gets to sleep in his own bed.” Daughter Brittany Force shared a picture of her father grinning and giving a thumbs up on Instagram.
