Christian Moore, a former Tennessee standout, is making an impression in the professional baseball ranks. Sam Blum reports that Moore has been promoted to Double-A by the Los Angeles Angels.

After just two games in Single A, Moore is headed to the Double-A level to play for the Rocket City Trash Pandas.

Christian Moore hit.546 with two doubles, a triple, a home run, and six RBIs in two games against the Inland Empire 66ers.

Moore hit.375 with 34 home runs and 74 RBIs in the previous season, which helped Tennessee win the national championship. He added two triples and nineteen doubles.

The Los Angeles Angels chose the second baseman with the eighth overall choice in last month’s 2024 MLB Draft. Moore agreed to a nearly $5 million contract with the Angels on July 19.

With his 34 long balls this past season, Christian Moore set a new mark for the most home runs in a Tennessee single-season. In May, he broke the previous record, which stood at 25.

After frightening pitching staffs from the leadoff slot throughout the season, Moore became the third player in SEC baseball history to win the Triple Crown as he concluded his collegiate career. Moore, against Florida State on April 2, recorded the second cycle in the history of the College World Series, demonstrating his versatility.
