Unbeliveable: Johnell Davis Says Choosing Arkansas basketball Was The Biggest Mistake That He Has Ever Made….
Fayetteville — Arkansas men’s basketball signee Johnell Davis has reportedly withdrew from the NBA Draft and will finish his undergraduate career with the Razorbacks. Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN was the first to report the news.
Wednesday was the deadline for withdrawals.
Davis, a highly regarded Florida Atlantic transfer, had previously declined an invitation to the G League Elite Camp and did not attend the NBA Draft Combine. He was not expected to be selected in most mock drafts. According to ESPN’s Jonathan Givnoy, Davis will work out with select NBA teams before the withdrawal deadline.
Davis joins the Razorbacks as one of the most sought-after players in the NCAA transfer portal. He was an important component of FAU’s 2023 Final Four run, averaging 18.2 points and 6.3.
Brady Tygart and Cooper Dossett, Arkansas baseball’s right-handed pitchers, will not be on the 27-man roster for this weekend’s NCAA Fayetteville Regional at Baum-Walker Stadium.
Tygart is being held out while trainers evaluate an ailment to his shoulder that has hampered his effectiveness in previous weeks. Dossett is out for the season after suffering an apparent arm injury on May 18 vs Texas A&M.
Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn says sophomore Dossett’s injury will not necessitate surgery. He wasn’t sure whether Tygart, a junior, would be available if the Razorbacks advanced past their home regional.
“They’re going to have to do some testing — I don’t know the exact word,” Van Horn said of Tygart. “It is not a ligament. The shoulders are not
“I want people to feel good about themselves when they get on the field and pitch without any distractions. The mental aspect of this game will not allow you to perform if you think like that and have something going on, as he does.”
Tygart was part of Arkansas’ weekend rotation for the first 13 weeks of the season. He suffered a glitch early in conference play, but he was largely consistent for the first few months.
Tygart allowed 5 runs over 17 innings (2.65 ERA) in three consecutive starts in April against NCAA regional teams Alabama, South Carolina, and Florida, including a pair of road games.
Tygart was pulled out of rotation.

“If he was pitching like he could and has in the past, I’d say it was a big loss,” Van Horn stated. “If you’re talking today, it’s a significant loss from two months or a month and a half ago, but we’ve been playing down the stretch with short starts and out of the pen, scrambling. I’d rather start guys not being on pins and needles about how things will turn out, which has been the case when he’s on the mound. We did not know how he felt.”
