Done Trade: Houston Texans Complete Their Five-Star 97.3 Million With Vikings….
The Houston Texans wanted to add depth to their offensive line at swing tackle since Laremy Tunsil had been dealing with a knee issue all season. Tunsil had knee surgery in February and missed the start of OTAs.
Tytus Howard moved from right tackle to left guard last season due to injuries at the guard position. Howard also suffered from injuries, which limited him to seven games. He had knee surgery in December and missed the start of OTAs. When he returns to football, he will most likely start at right tackle.
The Texans selected Blake Fisher in the second round, 59th overall, of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Fisher was the Texans’ only draft pick who had not signed a rookie contract as of Monday. He signed his rookie contract on Monday.
Fisher has committed to the Fighting Irish as a four-star prospect for the 2021 season. He would spend 27 games with the team, starting 27 of them (1 at left tackle and 26 at right tackle).
Fisher appeared in 12 games and started 12 at right tackle in 2023, recording 15 pressures, nine hurries, three hits, three sacks allowed, and a 71.8 PFF rating. He had a 70.0 run block grade, a 72.5 pass block grade, a 72.0 zone grade, and a 66.1 gap grade, according to PFF.
Fisher will compete with Charlie Heck for the swing tackle job. Heck will be in his fifth year with the league. He has started 21 of his 41 games.
Heck appeared in six games and started four in 2023, recording 18 pressures, 16 hurries, one hit, one sack allowed, and a 48.1 PFF grade.
