Breaking: Oklahoma Has Thrived With Group of 5 Transfers, But Might Be…..
Oklahoma has performed exceedingly well in the NCAA Transfer Portal during the last three offseasons.
Along with possible starters from Washington, USC, Michigan State, Purdue, Baylor, and Missouri, the Sooners have added starters or significant contributors from Michigan, Texas, Tennessee, TCU, Oklahoma State, Indiana, Stanford, Cal, Notre Dame, Wake Forest, Texas Tech, Arizona, Arizona State, UCLA, and North Carolina.
However, that is only one aspect of college football as it exists now.
OU coaches have also dug for gold at Group of 5 conference institutions, and on occasion they have hit it golden.
Head coach Brent Venables stated, “As we know, some of the best players in the NFL are Group of 5 players.”
To begin with, Venables’ first squad in Norman included an American Athletic Conference left-handed quarterback.
