REPORT DA ESPN: John McEnroe invia un messaggio forte a Djokovic, dicendo anche che avrebbe vinto 24 Grand Slam fino a quando.

Former world number one John McEnroe feels Serbia’s legendary tennis player doesn’t need a coach. The 36-year-old is often recognized as the greatest player in men’s tennis history during the Open era, having won up to 24 Grand Slam titles. Djokovic has been playing without a coach after parting ways with former Croatian tennis player Goran Ivanisevic after six years of working together.

McEnroe was recently reported in an article as saying that passing a statement that Djokovic needs a coach is ‘laughable’ and that he does not believe such accusations. “As far as him needing a coach, I think that’s laughable,” McEnroe replied. “As for him needing someone to tell him what he’s doing on the court, I don’t believe that. If he wants someone nearby, that’s OK. Nobody expected him to win 24 [Grand Slams], but it has worked out incredibly nicely.

“I remember seeing him play Gael Monfils when they were both young, and he won that match in five sets. I remarked to me, “That kid Djokovic has some guts,” but if you had told me he would win 24 Grand Slams, I would have thought you were crazy. Now he’s looking to win more, and the first two rounds were a great draw for him. Two guys who couldn’t beat him. Let’s see how it goes as things grow tougher. Djokovic looks great. There were a few occasions when he was breathing hard and looked like he was about to collapse, but for the most part, there was no problem.”
