“Che brutte notizie oggi” e brutte notizie per i Red Sox: l’allenatore della Boston Red Sox, Jose Alexander Cora, ha appena dichiarato che
In just 14 Major League Baseball games, Kyle Hudson made a significant contribution to one of the Boston Red Sox’s worst defeats in the 2011 regular season finale.
Hudson was playing with the Orioles after being called up by Baltimore in September. He is currently the third base instructor for Boston. Chris Davis doubled to right field on September 28, 2011, one out from the postseason and up by a run with Jonathan Papelbon on the mound for the Red Sox. This move put the tying run in scoring position. Davis was pinch-ran by the Orioles for Hudson.
In order to tie the game, Nolan Reimold hit a ground-rule double that scored Hudson from second. Boston’s dreams of making the playoffs were dashed when the Orioles went on to win.
On Monday, Hudson stated, “I remember a lot about that night,” when he appeared on MassLive’s “Fenway Rundown” podcast. “It seems like I didn’t do anything at all. I scored the tying run on a ground-rule double hit by Nolan Reimold. Therefore, I wasn’t actually required to do anything. If necessary, I could have walked to home plate.
It was an insane evening. We were watching other games because of the rain delay,” he subsequently said. We were aware of the stakes and, in a way, used the game as our World Series since, should we defeat the Red Sox, there was a possibility they wouldn’t advance to the postseason.
