Former Lions cornerback Cameron Sutton Have Issue With Lions Coach Still Insult The Management Including….

Unsurprisingly, Cameron Sutton is returning to the team that selected him in the draft.

In March, a warrant for Cameron Sutton’s arrest on account of a domestic abuse accusation was issued, ending his time with the Detroit Lions. Since then, he has remained unsigned; but, on Wednesday morning, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported that he is joining the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The veteran’s minimum contract is for one year, according to ESPN’s Brooke Pryor.  The Steelers selected Sutton in the 2017 draft. During his final two seasons in Pittsburgh, he established himself as the perfect free agent target for the Lions in 2023 once he was given the chance to start.

Sutton’s season did not go as planned; in addition to having six pass breakups and just one interception, he was rated outside of the top 100 cornerbacks by Pro Football Focus. Since the eye test provided ample evidence of his incompetence, there was no argument with that PFF score.

Even Nevertheless, Sutton’s contract stated that the Lions would have to play him this season until his off-field problem became apparent.

The NFL held league meetings shortly after Sutton’s release, but before he turned himself in to the police. When asked if he helps former players who are having problems, like Sutton did back then, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin replied in the negative. When asked if he had spoken with Sutton, Tomlin said, “none of your business,” indicating that he was under no need to inform reporters that he had established communication or what they had discussed.
