Done Deal: Luton Town defender Sign Four Years Deal With….
After being relegated from the Premier League the previous season, Luton Town will be back in the Championship the following year.
After both Middlesbrough and Hull City almost missed out on a top six finish in the previous campaign, both teams are now after the same player.
Giles, 24, was loaned to Hull City for a portion of the previous season. In addition to playing 11 games for Luton Town at Kenilworth Road, he made 17 appearances for the Tigers and provided one assist.
The left-sided defender is reportedly in talks with Hull City over a permanent move, but it has also been said that the Englishman is eager to return to Teesside, where Boro is keeping an eye on the issue. Though it’s been said that Boro won’t overpay for the defender, Alex Bangura or Lukas Engel would probably have to go if he became available.
Giles doesn’t seem to be a major component of Luton Town’s future plans, therefore it comes as no surprise that two of his previous teams are showing interest in signing him.
The 24-year-old had a successful season with Boro in the northeast, appearing 48 times in all competitions and dishing out 12 assists.
Though it seems the Tigers have the more pressing interest right now, it seems he would prefer to be reunited with Michael Carrick despite his recent stint with Hull City.
Giles needs to find a long-term partner with whom to settle down. The former Wolves player needs to move somewhere where he will be respected and have regular football playing opportunities because it doesn’t seem like his time at Luton Town has worked out.
At 24, he still has time on his side, but the frequent loan stints will hinder his growth and advancement.
