With the release of the Rest Pedal, Heusinkveld has expanded its selection of accessories for sim racing to include a practical footrest.

Today, June 12, 2024, Heusinkveld, a sim racing peripheral maker based in the Netherlands, publicly introduced a new product, the Rest Pedal, expanding its professional-grade product selection.

With Heusinkveld’s timing perfect for this weekend’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, the idea behind the Rest Pedal is to provide a place for sim racers to rest their left foot on lengthy straightaways. It is guaranteed to work with both Heusinkveld’s Ultimate+ and Sprint Baseplates.

There is a significant drawback, though: the Rest Pedal is limited to use with two-pedal Sprint and Ultimate+ configurations.

Therefore, you’ll need to mount the Rest Pedal to your sim rig’s baseplate or forego using it if your Heusinkveld pedal set has a clutch installed. Heusinkveld advises clients to confirm that the Rest Pedal will fit before making a purchase in that scenario.

The Rest Pedal is made of 4mm-thick stainless steel, which complements the aesthetically pleasing and useful design of other Heusinkveld products. It has 30 degrees of flexibility to accommodate any sweaty left foot, and big mounting apertures allow for additional setting.

This writer owns a pair of Sprints and a Heusinkveld Sim Handbrake and is really satisfied with their robustness, so it should be a solid piece of equipment based on Heusinkveld’s prior goods. The Rest Pedal costs €88.26, so many buyers will be happy to add it to their rig.
